A letter to our neighbors

A Family for Your Home

We are Max and Monica. We are getting married this March and hoping to buy a family home in your neighborhood, a place to grow and raise our family.

Our story

Who We Are

Max

I build circuit boards alongside my dad, out of our garage, for companies in the defense industry. It is a small family shop, and we are growing it one order at a time.

Monica

She works at Forced Physics DCT, a young startup that makes cooling systems for data centers. She joined early and is helping build it from the ground up.

Our work may sound bigger than it is. Both businesses are just getting started, and so are we.

Why here

Close to Family

Our family lives close by. Your neighborhood is where we want Sunday dinners, grandparents down the street, and children who grow up knowing their neighbors.

We are not just hoping to buy a house in your neighborhood. We are hoping to belong to it — the block parties, the borrowed ladders, the lemonade stands on the corner. We want our kids to grow up on a street where people look out for each other, because that is how we both grew up.

We have been searching for months, but homes in our price range are often sold to developers before a family like ours has a chance.

We are not looking for an investment. We are looking for a place to grow and raise our family.
What we can promise

Our Word to You

We will live in it

Your home will stay a home. We will not tear it down.

Never to a developer

When we move on one day, we will sell to a family too.

An honest offer

We will be upfront about what we can afford from the first conversation.

Your timeline

Weeks or months, we will work around what suits you.

Cared for

We will look after the place the way you have.

A good neighbor

We will be the family that waves from the driveway, learns every name on the street, and shows up when a neighbor needs a hand.

For homeowners

How It Works

1

Reach out

Call, text or email. There is no pressure and no obligation.

2

We meet

We come by, see the home, and hear what matters to you about its next chapter.

3

An offer, on your terms

If it feels right, we make a written offer and close when it works for you.

What we are looking for

A family home in or near the 85254 area. It does not need to be updated or perfect. If this is a second home for you, selling it to a family would be a true blessing to ours.

Right now we are all living on top of each other, and we are looking forward to the day we can bring our families together, all four of them included, in our new home.

Close to the People We Love

We live so close to our parents and grandparents, and we want to keep it that way.

Being a short drive from family is the whole reason we are looking where we are. It is where we want to raise our own kids, with their grandparents and great-grandparents nearby.

How we met

Our First Date, and a Goose Named Sue

On our first date, a goose picked us as its new parents and followed us around the whole day. We named her Sue.

What was supposed to be a coffee date turned into nine hours that just flew by. In the video, Monica is being mother goose while Sue picks at her dress.

Even before that date, I knew Monica was the person I was going to spend the rest of my life with. That day just made me sure.

Spooky Season Is Here

Monica found this spider at the store and had it on her head before I could say a word, price tag and all. This is the face I get to spend the rest of my life with.

Halloween has us dreaming a little. We keep talking about the year we get to decorate our own front porch, leave the light on, and hand out candy to the kids on our street.

And one day, we hope, we will be the ones walking our own little ones door to door in a neighborhood where we know the names behind every one of them.

Welcome, Shimoda

Monica and I went with my sister to the Humane Society to adopt her new puppy.

This is Shimoda, and I would like to formally welcome him into our family.

Where the Work Takes Us

My work brings me to some amazing places. When I am not in the lab building circuit boards, I am flying drones for huge productions.

This is us about to walk into Same Same But Different with our good friends, all-access passes in hand.

It is a fun job, and it is even better when Monica and our friends get to come along for it.

Old Photos, Same Feeling

I was going through old photos and found this series of my grandma and my mom, taken at my grandma’s home around the time of my mom’s wedding.

Looking at them has me feeling nostalgic. So much of our family’s story happened in and around that house, and it is a big part of why a family home matters so much to Monica and me.

It also has me more ready than ever for our own big day.

Two Coffees and a Wedding Plan

These are the coffees that got us through our first big wedding planning push. It is so exciting, and it is so much work.

I love Monica, and I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with her. Every challenge we have faced has made us stronger together, and planning this day side by side is one more reminder of that.

March will be here before we know it.

Evenings on the House Hunt

This is what most evenings look like at our place right now. Dinner is done, the lights are low, and Monica is at her desk going through listings, one living room at a time.

It is exciting to finally be taking this next step together. Every home she pulls up, we end up picturing the same things: where the table goes, which room becomes a nursery, how close it is to family.

Things are looking up, too. With the way the market has been moving, more and more homes in our area are starting to look like real options for us. We are hopeful, and we will keep sharing how it goes here.

We would love to hear from you

Let’s Talk

If you are thinking about selling, or you own a second home that sits empty, we would be grateful for a few minutes of your time. Just a conversation between neighbors.

And when we talk, we would love to hear the story of your home. The tree you planted. The pencil marks on the doorframe where the kids grew. A home like that deserves a family who will carry its story forward, and we would be honored to be that family.

Not selling, but know someone who might be? Please pass this page along.
